Situated in one of the most beautiful, and hidden, valleys in the Villiersdorp area is Helderstroom Alpacas where you will find a herd of over 20 of these remarkable animals – members of the camel family. Bred for their exquisitely fine fibre, alpacas are natives of South America, from the Altiplano region of the Andes mountains. Man has been associated with the noble alpaca for over 9000 years.
Helderstroom Alpacas is privileged to have bred the FIRST set of alpaca twins in South Africa which were born in May 2009. Twin girls! Indeed, so rare is this phenomenon that very little information is available, even from the experts.
In our workshop we clean the fibre, card and handspin in the traditional way and display a range of beautifully hand knitted items for sale, made by Villiersdorp women. We are ten minutes’ drive from Villiersdorp.
Come and visit us, meet the twins – Salt and Pepper, the “macho” boys, and the wonderfully caring mums. Hug an alpaca, get in amongst them, you’ll love this unique experience! We’d love to see you …

Kroonland 4x4 Route
  
Kroonland 4x4 is situated on the farm Kaaimansgat, which is approximately 10km from Villiersdorp. The route itself is not difficult and is graded a "2". It is however incredibly scenic.
There is a lapa and full ablution facilities at the campsite, and for those who do not want to rough it too much, there are also a couple of very basic rustic chalets (no electricity) available.
For those "A-Framing" their vehicles, the campsite is easily accessible. |

Theewater Sports Club
  
Theewater Sports Club (TSC), is situated on a peninsula stretching into the Theewaterskloof dam, surrounded by farmlands, majestic mountains and a variety of wildlife.
Aquatic-related activities have a strong following amongst Club members and public visitors and include keelboat, multihull and dinghy sailing, power boating, jet skiing, water skiing, kite surfing, windsurfing and fresh water angling.
The objective of the Club is to facilitate, for the benefit of its members, long-term, sustainable, aquatic-related activity for family recreation and competitive sport, providing members with associated facilities, whilst conserving the natural environment, and the individual rights of people as embodied in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. |
